Back on the taxidermy.net site I always saw people that were wanting to make a fleshing beam out of 8 inch PVC Pipe. So I was just wondering if anyone new how to make one. At there site all they would say was look at the archives. I have tried many time and in all honesty im tired of hearing everyone say that. So if anyone can help me thanks alot. Also, if you have any pics plz let me know so I can see what it looks like. Thanks Alot

Mikey i would try to find an old wooden ironing board and round the edges and use that for a fleshing beam, i do and it works great.

I am trying it now. I took a 4' piece of PVC. Ripped it in half. The best I can understand is to attatch a 2x4 or something to it for support. score some lines in it to help prevent sliding around. I think I am going to try to attatch one end to the wall as a pivit point. allowing me to fold it up out of the way when not in use.
I don't know if I'm right but, that's wha I am going to do.

No advice on PVC. But mine is made of maple. You could also use a knot free pine 2X8. Mine has a 12 inch "V" in the end. (you measure the center of your board and make a mark. you then measure down 12 and draw a line. Use this to make your "well rounded" V.)

The one mounted on the table looks neat. I don't really like the big one though.

Mine is made using a 2' section of 8" PVC.A frame is made so the pie comes up from the floor at a 45 degree angle. The upper end of the PVC is cut off at a 45 degree angle.Since the pipe is angled 45 degrees from the floor, this makes the cut off end vertical so that I can press my stomach against it to hold the hide while fleshing downward on the pipe with a draw knife. The upper end of the PVC should be at a level between your belt and navel.I used a piece of 4"x4" inside the PVC as the support that brings it up from the floor at the 45 degree angle to get it the right height.
