Im going to try my first large mouth bass here in a week or so but first I need help on some things. I bought a video and in this video they used a preservative that you mix into water. I am wanting to know if you can use borax to preserve a bass and if so how do i make the solution. I still have a couple other question but I will seprate them out on other posts so they arent confussing. Thanks Alot Mikey

I use a mixture of 50% denatured alcohol and 50% water which works great but you can use water and borax, when i did that i used a big handful of borax in each gallon of water, left fish in solution approximately 12 hours then took out and mounted as usual.

Whichever mixture you decide on mix up enough to completely cover the fish for the whole time you have it in there, either mixture works but you can leave a fish in the denatured alcohol mixture a lot longer, I have left them in it for 2 1/2 months before and heard of others leaving even longer than that.
