Well folks it's mid August and all of the deer heads and other critters that came in last fall are long gone and hung from their owners' walls. Since I don't do fish for other people this is my slow time.
I usually spend this time cleaning my freezer out, and mounting the raccoons, foxes, etc. which somehow end up there. The profits from mounting and selling are not great, however. If a customer brings a fox he happened to get during deer season, I can charge him $400. to mount it. If I try to sell a fox, it is hard to get $250 for it, regardless of how nice it is.
Has anyone had success turning a decent profit during a slow period? Thanks in advance, Chris
