does anyone else always push the envelope? Last week I realized I promised a guy his salmon 3 days before he called to ask what time Thursday (?) he could pick it up, I got it done and he was pleased as hell with it. Today I had to finish 2 deer heads for the same guy. He lives 1 1/2 hour drive from here. They looked great (one was an open flemen mouth, no problem). I usually never put backboards on my mounts because I charge 89.95 for the black walnut ones from V.D's and people don't want to spend that much which is fine with me because I don't like doing them. Got the d**n deer on the boards and on the lower right corner there was a imperfection in the wood. (I didn't open the box with the boards in the until 2 seconds before I put the deer on them, my f**k up). Took the deer off and tried steel wooling and furniture polishing it and it just got worse, really worse. tried sanding the whole thing and spray glossing, really really worse. At that time the customer and his wife arrived (let's have a beer and talk Packers while I un f**k this). I ended up taking 20.00 off . It looked O.K. but no better than before I started. I'm glad I'm taking the next 2 or 3 years off from this nuts. The money really isn't that bad but I'm tired of the stress of dealing with people on a daily basis and wish I could tell at least 10% of them to kiss my scrotum. Mikey PLEASE come back, we miss you.
