Hey, not bad at all. You are doing really good for your second mount ever. Mine looked hideous lol. Anyways, one thing that is really standing out to me is the lower lip. You have too much of that showing. But keep with it and study your reference and you'll get better.

yeah, I kinda had a brainfart and didnt put brads there, funny thing is, it pulled down, but only where I left lip showing so it looks like hes just pulled his lip back a little. I couldnt tuck it back so I apoxiesculpted a little to give it an inside of the lip look and painted it to match - with the customer's approval that is. It turned out well, he liked the idea, but I doubt I will do that kind of "custom" work again

Next time use superglue to hold the lower lip where it should be. It really works well. they will pull no matter what if you use pins, but the super glue pretty much keeps the lip there.

thanks for the tip, I've found lots of uses for that superglue on future mounts, but that's on I'd not thought of.

Looks really good except for the bottom lip, the super glue will work but I dont know what kind of hide glue you are using, maybe you just need to go to a little better type glue.

I'm using the rinehart hide paste, it seems to work good on the majority of the body, but I am thinking of getting a stronger kind for the facial area, any good ones that you know of?

I use Buckeye Supreme, No problems yet. Als you need to keep a check on all mounts during the drying process. This may have been prevented.

ears not crisp, way to much lip or is that an open mouth pose?, nose is black, nostrils are white, both wrong! Eyes are not split completely, and gap under antler burr, the hair should cover the bottom edge of the burr, you have the hair under the burr. The ears are painted wrong also. The skin around the eye is the wrong color too.
